Need to build something for a sculpture, video installation, or performance? In this orientation, you will learn about the tools and equipment available at the woodshop in the Department of Art, Film, and Visual Studies. Woodshop coordinator Oliver Strand will explain safe working practices, introduce the shop’s equipment, and give you training and hands-on experience with some specific tools. All participants sign a training record and safety contract and upon completion of this orientation will have access to the shop for the semester whenever a shop monitor is present.
