Nnenna Onuoha

Nnenna Onuoha is a Ghanaian-Nigerian researcher, filmmaker, and artist based in Berlin. At Harvard, she is a PhD student in Anthropology with a secondary field in Critical Media Practice.
Centring Afrodiasporic voices, her films and videos create powerful, multi-layered textures, that examine how the afterlives of colonialism haunt our present realities, and also chronicle how amidst this, Black people practice care and repair. Nnenna is a 2021 participant of the Goldrausch Künstlerinnen Projekt and Berlin Program for Artists. She is also a 2021 fellow in the project “Global Memories of German Colonialism” at the University of Hamburg. Nnenna holds a BA in History, Literature, and Anthropology from Harvard College, an MPhil in World History from the University of Cambridge, and an MA in Documentary Filmmaking from DocNomads.
